Clinical participation is subject to:
- Patient safety and informed consent
- Case availability and suitability
- The participant's qualifications and prior experience
- Faculty assessment
- Hospital and institutional protocols
- Applicable laws and regulations
The extent of clinical involvement will therefore depend on the individual participant's experience and the clinical opportunities available during the training period.
Important Limitations
ISTI does not guarantee a specific number or type of surgical cases or a specific level of participation in any particular procedure.
Participant Responsibilities
Participants must:
- Follow the instructions of the faculty, treating team and host institution
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Comply with all hospital protocols and professional standards
- Respect patient safety as the highest priority
Critical Warning
No participant may independently perform a medical or surgical procedure unless legally authorised and permitted by the relevant institution.
Certificate Clarification
Completion of an ISTI programme does not by itself confer a medical degree, statutory postgraduate qualification, specialist registration, medical licence or independent hospital privileges.
