Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology

Colposcopy and cervical pathology training

3-Day Practical Training in Cervical Assessment & Colposcopy

The Master Colposcopy Training Program is a focused 3-day program for gynecologists seeking to strengthen their skills in colposcopic examination, cervical lesion assessment, biopsy, and clinical decision-making.

The program progresses from cervical anatomy and colposcopic principles to patient-based examination and supervised procedural training, helping participants develop a systematic approach to evaluating abnormal cervical findings.

Training Approach

Assess → Examine → Identify → Biopsy → Correlate → Manage

The course emphasizes structured examination rather than isolated image recognition. Participants learn how to combine clinical history, cytology, HPV results, colposcopic findings, and histopathology when determining the appropriate next step.

Core Training Areas

Cervical Assessment & Colposcopy Fundamentals

Practical Colposcopic Examination

Participants are introduced to the complete examination workflow, including:

Cervical Biopsy & Histopathology

Training covers the practical principles of:

Clinical Decision-Making

Case-based sessions address how colposcopic findings influence management, including:

Patient-Based Practical Training

A key component of the program is supervised clinical exposure.

Participants have the opportunity to observe and perform colposcopic examinations on suitable patients under faculty guidance, with exposure to up to two patient cases, subject to clinical availability and suitability.

Practical participation is conducted according to patient safety, informed consent, institutional protocols, and individual competence.

3-Day Curriculum

Day 1 - Foundations & Systematic Examination

Cervical anatomy, transformation zone, HPV and cytology correlation, colposcope operation, examination technique, and recognition of normal versus abnormal findings.

Day 2 - Lesion Assessment & Biopsy

Detailed evaluation of acetowhite changes, vascular patterns, iodine reactions, and lesion characteristics, followed by principles of directed cervical biopsy and specimen handling.

Day 3 - Case Integration & Management

Patient-based cases, histopathology correlation, structured reporting, risk-based management, treatment pathways, counselling, and supervised practical assessment.
